I teach American History and I use song, images, cartoons, artwork, etc. as my foundational material and the students really like that I believe compared to book information. When we study the Vietnam War I ask the students to listen to all of these songs and more; in the more recent times I ask the students to write a song/poem about the current conflict America is in. I believe It really gets them to think how our nation's history has some common threads running through it.
Wow - the song and pictures combined - fantastic! I kept anticipating the photo of the girl kneeling down next to a fallen body, her arms spread out, as if to ask "Why?!"....and when that photo popped up, it really made a powerful impact. Excellent presentation!
A fishing friend of mine, a past personel director of the DCSD was there when it all went down. He won't talk with me concerning that day. Your work helps me understand why he choses not to discuss it. Thanks
I really liked the combination of song, words, and pictures. It really brought to life the situation. The interpretation of the song and the pictures really helped make the connections. Nice job!
